Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of this website. By using swptherapy.com, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Use of Content

Everything on this site, including text, images, and other resources, is for informational purposes only. Nothing here is a substitute for an individualized clinical assessment or treatment relationship, and none of it should be treated as personal mental health advice.

No Therapist-Client Relationship Until an Appointment Is Scheduled

Submitting the New Client Form, calling, or emailing me through this site does not, by itself, create a therapist-client relationship. That relationship begins once we've had an initial session and completed the standard intake paperwork, including informed consent.

Appointments & Services

Services described on this site, including EMDR, individual therapy, and comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, are provided according to the terms we agree to at intake, including my cancellation and no-show policy, session fees, and any other conditions outlined in your client paperwork. Nothing on the website itself constitutes a service agreement.

Limitation of Liability

I make a reasonable effort to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but I don't guarantee it's complete or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, I'm not responsible for errors, omissions, or outcomes that result from your use of this website or reliance on its content. This limitation does not apply to services provided within an established therapist-client relationship, which are governed by the standard of care under South Carolina law and my professional licensing board.

Intellectual Property

The content on this site, including text, images, and any downloadable resources, belongs to Shadow Work Psychotherapy unless otherwise noted. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce, redistribute, or use it commercially without my written permission.

External Links

This site may link to third-party websites or resources for your convenience. I don't control those sites and am not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the most recent revision. Continuing to use this website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
